We used to have an alteration of that song until Mama outlawed singing it. It wasn't a very pleasant alteration. :-D We also have a homeschoolers version of "Deck the Halls"

Deck the halls with gasoline...
Strike a match and watch it gleam...
Watch the school house burn to ashes...
Are you glad we played with matches...

I didn't feel like writing out all the fa la la las but you know where to put them.

Hah. I wrote a new version of While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night.

While shepherds washed their socks by night
All soapy on the ground
A sheep came up to them and said
'Please wash my sockses
['ses' added for rhythm]too
Please wash my sockses too

The shepherds were greatly surprised
But readily agreed
'On one condition' they did say, 'You help wash sockses too
You help wash sockses too.'

So soon they were all finished
Washing their dirty socks
The sheep was most grateful to them
And all were full of soap
And all were full of soap!'

Yay.

Haha, Abbie, that's hilarious. :D

I'm not creative enough to come up with my own spoof carol, so I'm going to steal someone else's. (I hope you don't mind, Amy, but it was so good that I have to share it :) )

Sing to the tune of Jingle Bells.

The Ring was gold and shiny
'Twas circular and small
Though its size was but tiny
Its power ruled them all.

Through many hands it passed
Of Maia, Hobbit, Man
When Frodo found it Gandalf said
"Destroy it if you can!"

Oh! The wizard went, by Valar sent
The dwarf and two men too
The hobbits tagged along behind
With the elf of old, it's true - yrch!

The Fellowship, the banded Nine
They traveled many lands
They strayed not from the narrow edge
With Fate held in their hands!

Through ancient Moria of stone
The party made their path
They exited there minus one -
While the Balrog had a bath!

The Steward's son, of Gondor
Was noble, tall and brave
The Uruk-hai, they shot him down -
Sent to a watery grave!

Oh! Seven split, bit by bit
Now Gollum has a part
Their journeys long, not in this song
In a book now called great art

Sauron died, Gollum tried
To bite off Frodo's hand
He only got his finger, though
Now Elessar ruled the land!

Well, you never know what you're going to find when you're bored and browsing through old blog posts. I see my reputation has preceded me!
